FAQs
Why work with a registered dietitian?
Dietitians use evidenced-based practices which provides you with reliable and credible nutrition information. Compared to a Nutritionist, Dietitians go through extensive education and training:
Completes a Bachelor’s degree (and Master’s usually)
1,200 hours of hands-on practice in an accredited internship
Passes the national exam to obtain a license through the CDR (Commission on Dietetic Registration)
Adhere to a code of ethics
There are no regulations to be a Nutritionist, so literally anyone can call themselves one.
What is my food philosophy?
I use an All Foods Fit philosophy along with Intuitive Eating principles in my practice, while focusing on healthy behaviors and not weight or size of bodies. It’s about balance, moderation, and variety.
Together we will work on an individualized plan and tailor needs to what works for you and your lifestyle.
What is my treatment approach?
I focus on a HAES weight-neutral approach rather than numbers. I care more about the person as a whole and their overall well-being. Body liberation is an important part of my practice because it focuses on bringing a person’s self-worth to light that isn’t focused on body size or appearance. I would also rather help a client with overcoming disordered eating patterns and teaching them about an all foods fit approach. I also am a trauma-informed provider using DBT and CBT-based skills in my practice.
